You have been waiting for this week for so long! Spring is in the air! Its suppose to be a nice and warm week and you can fill it with so many adventures and activities. Of course, if you decide to turn your favorite TV show off;) We put together a list for you of some of the activities to do while you are here on spring break. Check it out!

Into the Woods Musical – Community Players Theatre

When: March 9-11, 16-18 & 23-25, 2018

What:  Into The Woods intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from “Little Red Riding Hood”, “Jack and the Beanstalk”, “Rapunzel”, and “Cinderella”, as well as several others. The show is tied together by a story involving a childless baker and his wife and their quest to being a family, just like the Grimm Brothers’ Rapunzel. Their interaction with a witch who has placed a curse on them turns their lives upside down and they are off meeting with the other storybook characters during their journey. Into The Woods covers multiple themes, growing up, parents and children, accepting responsibility, morality and finally wish fulfillment and it’s consequences. The original production won the 1988 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical and the original cast recording won a Grammy Award. The show was nominated for 10 Tony Awards and won 3: Best Score, Best Book and Best Actress in a Musical.

Cost: $18 ($16 Students and $8 for children ages 10 and under).

LexiCon Game Convention

What: Lexicon is small gaming convention hosted by Limitless Adventures. While primarily focused table-top games like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder and Magic the Gathering, gamers, and nerds of all fandoms are welcome and likely to find something entertaining.

Switchback in Concert

Landscape Design Using Native Plants

What: Using native plants to create aesthetically pleasing spaces presents special challenges. They are alive and constantly change their characteristics like size, shape, color and texture. In this program Cathy Bilow will present design principles and practical ideas for you to use in your home landscape and native plant garden. She has created and will share her garden templates that can be adapted to just about any home or public garden.

Pedal Power! – Exhibit Opening

What: Pedal Power! will open on March 10, 2018. On display will be the personal pedal car collection of long-time State Farm executive Bruce Callis. This exhibit will feature dozens of child-sized autos which spans fifty years of pedal car production from the 1920s through the 1970s.
