If you’ve got a summer/fall internship or research project lined up – tell us about it! All students turning in complete Internship Report forms by April 20 will be registered to win gift cards to favorite dining spots (Flat Top, Panera, & Noodles). Forms can be emailed to email@example.com or dropped off at the Hart Career Center. Winners will be notified on April 21.
Students who have already turned in Learning Contracts for May or Fall are automatically registered to win.
According to the NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) 2010 Internship Survey, employers plan to hire 2.9% more interns during the coming year. While that might not seem like a whole lot, it’s a significant turnaround from the 20% decrease in hiring in 2009.

On Friday, April 9, guest alumni presenter Jay Truty ’96 will present his talk about finding a “green career”. Jay is the founder of Ecosystem Capital, LLC, which specializes in assisting landowners, corporations, financial institutions, conservation organizations and government entities with the development of innovative conservation finance strategies. The presentation will take place in the Hansen Student Center at noon.

On Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the Hansen Student Center, bestselling author, speaker and consultant Lindsey Pollak will share her career expertise during a special presentation, “Getting from College to Career: How to Get a Good Job in a Bad Economy.”
Pollak specializes in Generation Y career and workplace issues, with a decade of experience helping college students become young professionals. She is also involved on the corporate side, advising organizations how to maximize the potential of new employees.
The first 50 students to arrive for Pollak’s engaging and enthusiastic presentation will receive a copy of her book, Getting From College to Career: 90 Things to Do Before You Join the Real World. There will be a ‘Q and A’ and books available for purchase (and signing) after the presentation.
