{"id":411,"date":"2012-02-29T15:07:06","date_gmt":"2012-02-29T21:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/asc\/?p=411"},"modified":"2012-05-03T12:50:15","modified_gmt":"2012-05-03T17:50:15","slug":"music-tape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/asc\/2012\/02\/29\/music-tape\/","title":{"rendered":"School of Music reel-to-reel tape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s an update on the <a title=\"Time capsules among us\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/asc\/2011\/12\/30\/time-capsules-among-us\/\">time capsule post<\/a>&#8230;the only item in the box that we couldn&#8217;t immediately understand\/interact with was a tape of original faculty and student works from the School of Music. The tape appeared to be in good condition, but since it had been exposed to temperature fluctuations for a number of years, I decided to have it professionally transferred to digital format.<\/p>\n<p>I just heard back from the vendor that the transfer went well and there was no loss of quality or damage to the tape. Hopefully, within a week or so we&#8217;ll have it back and be able to make some segments of it available. As a teaser, check out <a title=\"Typed list of items on the tape\" href=\"http:\/\/collections.carli.illinois.edu\/u?\/iwu_histph,2321\">the program<\/a> that was included with the tape in the time capsule.
