This is primarily\u00a0poetry in book and magazine\/journal review format but biographies and some criticism is held here, too. More of the primary and secondary\u00a0source material is available in the main library stacks.\u00a0A <a title=\"beats' finding aid\" href=\"http:\/\/www2.iwu.edu\/library\/services\/Documents\/Beat_Writers_Collection.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">title list <\/a>is available, but each title is also cataloged and so they&#8217;ll turn up if you search in our <a title=\"Ames book catalog\" href=\"http:\/\/i-share.carli.illinois.edu\/iwu\/cgi-bin\/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&amp;PAGE=bbSearch\" target=\"_blank\">online holdings<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n<p>Individual titles in special collections are usually accompanied by an inscription or autograph of an author such as <em>39 Poems<\/em>\u00a0by\u00a0John Ciardi; <em>The Unicorn and Other Sonnets<\/em> by Thomas S. Jones, jr.; <em>For My People<\/em> by Margaret Walker, <em>Threads<\/em>\u00a0by Dorothy Quick.<\/p>\n<p><em>Archives<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We hold various incarnations of IWU student-compiled journals containing poetry from the literary societies of the late 19th century through to today&#8217;s Tributaries and material on the Tounge &amp; Ink conferences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April is\u00a0National\u00a0Poetry Month, and I thought I&#8217;d mention a few places where poetry can be found\u00a0in\u00a0our vaults.
