Students from the Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and Healing, Birthing, Dying courses, as well as students from Anthro Club, attended the Gathering of Veterans Powwow at Seven Circles Heritage Center on Saturday, September 21st, 2013.
Members of the healing class met with Margo Danger, a hollow bones healer
Students helped facilitate a child’s village, featuring an authentic tipi, a dream catcher building station, and a walking stick decorating station
Students enjoy a break for lunch
As the guests of honor, veterans are celebrated in the dance circle
Students observed and participated in the dance circle
Marty Stomping Elk, a pipe carrier and fire keeper, taught students about the Spirit Fire and the Pipe Ceremony
