Andalucia: A Merging of Tradition and Modernity

Tentative Itinerary

While we don’t have dates for the trip yet, we do know where we will be going and what we will be seeing and doing for the most part. This trip is going to encompass some beautiful sites and deeply interesting trips.

 

Site Visits:

Albayzin & Sacromonte – includes a guided tour (free admission)

Alhambra & Generalife – includes admission and guided tour by an IES Art History Professor

Hammam/Banos Arabes – an included 90-min. tour of the baths (with optional massage!)

La Huerta de San Vincente – includes admission

Viznar-Alfacar – includes a group picnic lunch

Fuente Vaqueros – includes transportation and entrance fees

Centro de Documentacion Musical de Andalucia

Casa Museo Manuel de Falla – includes admission

Museo-Casa Natal Federico Garcia Lorca – includes admission

 

Day Trip:

Nerja – includes round-trip transportation by public bus

Cordoba – includes round-trip transportation by public bus, entrance to Mezquita and House of Sefarad, and a guided walking tour

 

Field Trip:

Sevilla (2 days, 1 night) – includes round-trip transportation via bus or train, shared hotel accommodations including daily breakfast and internet access, a city bike tour, entrance to the Alcazar, the Cathedral, the former Minaret, and a walking tour of the medieval Jewish quarter

 

Misc.:

We will see one flamenco show, among other cultural activities.
