Executive Summary: This summer I interned in the P&C Claims Department at State Farm and with the West Bloomington Revitalization Project for my nonprofit. It’s amazing how quickly a summer can fly by when you stay as busy as you do with the Community Partnership Program. It seems like there is always something to work on, and that was certainly the case for me this summer, especially, to my surprise, on the nonprofit side. I feel like I was engaged with so many different projects, and best of all, each one mattered in its own unique way. It makes such a difference when you have the opportunity to complete meaningful work as opposed to something you do simply because you are told to. Having lived in Bloomington my whole life, it was especially rewarding as well to be so active in the community, to meet such as wide variety of people, and to work on projects that will hopefully have an impact for many years to come.
