Veena Hamill ’18 has just completed a master’s degree in Biotechnology at Rush University in Chicago, IL

 Rotary International has awarded Illinois Wesleyan University alum Jia “Muyi” Yang ’18 a 2019 Rotary Peace Fellowship to pursue a master’s degree in peace and conflict studies at Uppsala University in Sweden.

Thank-A-Giver Day (TAG Day) is on Monday, February 11. This day provides the IWU campus community with the opportunity to thank the donors who support Illinois Wesleyan. IWU celebrates each year in mid-February because it marks the symbolic point during the academic year – about 70% of the way through – when tuition dollars run out and support from alumni and friends, our endowment, and external grants kicks in for the remainder of the year.

Juna Shai ’18 is currently serving as the understudy to Broadway’s Ali Ewoldt (Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, The King and I) in the Off-Broadway production of Anne of Green Gables: Part I, from Jan. 24 to Feb. 11, 2019, with Royal Family Productions, located in the heart of Times Square. Brock Thornton ’18 returned to IWU on November 14, 2018 to represent his organization, Memorial Health System, at the Nursing Career Fair. Glad to know this alumnus was contributing his story, advice, and resources at the fair!

It has been just over 3 months since we got our diplomas, packed up our stuff and left campus. For many of us, this is now the first August where we are not preparing to head back to campus, or school in general, for the first time in our lives. But fret not, because we are all invited back to campus this October 5-7th for Reunion Weekend during Homecoming where we will celebrate the Class of 2018! Join together for special “0-Year” reunion activities on Friday afternoon, a special reunion tailgate on Saturday and our reunion celebration on Saturday evening.
