IWU political science major Melissa Guzman was invited by Chicago alderman Sylvia Torres to attend the annual United States Hispanic Leadership Institute Conference after an interview over the phone for Guzman’s senior seminar project, which focused on the underrepresentation of Latina women in government positions.<\/p>\n

Guzman is extending her work for Research Honors.<\/p>\n
