Now an attorney at an international law firm in Chicago, he advises and represents multinational employers. Recently, he has participated in negotiations for a business and human rights treaty at the United Nations. He also represents pro bono asylum seekers and \u201cDreamer\u201d applicants. As a speaker for Homecoming 2017&#8217;s Back to College Classes, Lavanga shared his thoughts on how IWU \u2013 his friends, professors, and work-study at Saga \u2013 prepared him for his career, and how he met his wife-to-be on a May Term class.
