Thank a Giver Day

Today, students, faculty, and staff across campus are celebrating donors and the impact they have on campus. Thank A Giver Day marks the symbolic point during the year — about 70% of the way though — when tuition dollars run out and the University relies on the generosity of donors, the endowment, and external grants for the remainder of the year. Share how your IWU experience was impacted by donors using #IWUThanks.

Donor support allows IWU students to continue to have experiences that make being a Titan unique and transformative. To be among those celebrated today, make a gift at www.iwu.edu/give. If you have already made a gift this year, thank you!

Karoline Carstens (’03)

Karoline Carstens, who graduated with a degree in Sociology from IWU in 2003, has just recently been recognized as one of this year’s “40 under 40” Attorneys by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Her passion for public service has taken her along a most unique path from the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office to private practice with the Alton office of Simmons Hanly Conroy where she continues to focus on the relentless pursuit of community justice. The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin published a detailed biography on her linked below. Links to her firm bio and to the NIU Law press release are also below.
ALTON, Ill. (Jan. 9, 2017) – Simmons Hanly Conroy, one of the nation’s largest mass torts firms, is pleased to announce that the firm has grown its shareholder ranks with the elevation of 14 attorneys, effective Jan. 1. Among the firm’s new shareholders includes Karoline Carstens ’03.
Based in the firm’s Alton office, Carstens focuses her practice on helping those affected by asbestos-related diseases, such as mesothelioma.
