Michelle (Dionne) Ertel ’03

Michelle (Dionne) Ertel ’03 recently completed her Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia (MTSA). She is currently serving as the Interim Assistant Director at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) Nurse Anesthesia Program while maintaining clinical practice at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

Dan Bucek ’03

Dan Bucek ’03 was selected to serve as Cirque du Soleil’s sports medicine and chiropractic provider for their latest ice show, “Crystal”, while in Chicago. Dr. Bucek is also a provider for US Soccer and serves as a rotating chiropractic sports physician for Team USA, providing elite athlete care at their Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. His private practice is located in Batavia, IL.

Homecoming Veteran’s Service 2017

As IWU celebrates Titans Around the World at Homecoming this weekend, we will also honor our alumni who served worldwide as veterans and first-responders, including Captain Ryan A. Beaupre ’95. We will remember Ryan and all veterans and first-responders who have given their lives in the service of others and our country. Presenting the colors will be American Legion Color Guard Post 635 Normal and Post 56 from Bloomington. The ceremony will take place this Saturday, October 14th at 12:45 p.m., prior to the Homecoming Football game at Tucci Stadium and will include the National Anthem sung by Wayne Messmer ’72.  Classmates and friends can view the ceremony on streaming video live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/iwu/.

Benjamin Nau ’03

Naper Settlement, an outdoor history museum, is pleased to announce that Benjamin Nau ’03, an experienced professional in marketing and graphic design, has been named the museum’s new Director of Marketing.

In his new role, Nau will be responsible for developing and executing a marketing and communications strategy. He will help build, manage and integrate the organization’s brand in all aspects of marketing communications, including digital, print, social media and will raise the overall awareness of the organization.

“I am excited to help increase the digital footprint of Naper Settlement and take advantage of technology to help create new experiences,” said Nau. “My aim is to support the museum in its goal to serve the community by creating excellent marketing that increases awareness.”

Nau has two sons, ages 6 and 9, with his wife, Jennifer. In his free-time, Nau enjoys gardening, coaching his sons’ baseball teams and competing in triathlons, where he’s an Ironman finisher.
