From the IWU Magazine-Summer 2014:
Matthew Dearing ’00 and his wife Michelle were part of history in June when their family-run business, Denney Jewelers in Springfield, held a wedding ceremony for same-sex couples 10 days after a state law allowing the marriages went into effect. For the business’s Summer of Love Marriage Equality Celebration, the couples taking part were given free wedding rings and were wed in a joint ceremony in which Matthew’s wife Michelle served as an officiant while he served as videographer.
