Alan Shindel ’98

Alan W. Shindel, MD is the editor of Sexual Medicine,  an official publication of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), which serves the field as the peer-reviewed, open access journal for rapid dissemination of multidisciplinary clinical and basic research in all areas of global sexual medicine.

Dr. Shindel received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, USA. He went on to medical school at Washington University Medical School in Saint Louis and stayed on at Washington University to complete his residency in urology. In 2007, he started a three year fellowship in andrology at the University of California, San Francisco under the auspices of Tom Lue, Ira Sharlip, and Tom Walsh. In 2010 he joined the faculty of urology at the University of California, Davis in Sacramento, California, USA as an assistant professor of Urology and Co-Director of Men’s Health.

Meg Rincker ’98 Published

Meg Rincker published an op-ed in the Christian Science Monitor about the election in Pakistan. Previously a visiting instructor at IWU, Rincker is now assistant professor of political science at Purdue University Calumet.  She presented her book, What Wome Want: Global Decentraliztion and Democratization, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.  Her book uses interviews with women’s organization leaders in the United Kingdom, Poland, and Pakistan to show that women have diverse policy priorities in these countries.
