Jeff Mavros ’98 Named ISU’s Director of Admissions
http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/daily-digest/article_985dcdaa-19a6-5a02-8b22-f3b57afc5e77.html
Jeff Mavros was named Illinois State University’s Director of Admissions back in April of 2014. This was bittersweet news for me, since Jeff and I had worked together in the IWU Advancement Office since I was hired back in November of 2007. Jeff was a great colleague and a good friend. We’re very proud of him here in our office and wish him nothing but success moving forward. ISU is very lucky to have him.
Apologies
Hey ’98 Titans. I just wanted to do a quick post and apologize for the dearth of updates the past several weeks. I’ve been extremely busy with both of my jobs, but things should calm down here for the timing being. So look for some posts here in the next few days as I try to get caught up and I will endeavor to be quicker to post things going forward. Thanks everyone!

Martin Kulak ’98
Martin Kulak has been nominated to receive the Teacher of the Year Award for 2013-2014 from the Illinois Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers. Kulak teaches at James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates and is the leader of the District 211 Physics Teacher Professional Learning Team. He has worked with a group of colleagues who created a featured application on the iTunes Store, Step2Step Physics: Mechanics, which now has close to 3,000 downloads.
In addition, a member of his team created a Physics iBook on iTunes U that includes Kulak’s notes and lectures, which learners all over the world can download for free. Currently, there are more than 60,000 subscribers to the course.
The ISAAPT Award winner will be announced in March and will be presented during the fall meeting of the Section.
