{"id":421,"date":"2021-03-09T16:55:52","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T22:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/1990classnews\/?p=421"},"modified":"2021-03-10T08:46:05","modified_gmt":"2021-03-10T14:46:05","slug":"monica-cheek-hall-90","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.iwu.edu\/1990classnews\/2021\/03\/09\/monica-cheek-hall-90\/","title":{"rendered":"Monica (Cheek) Hall &#8217;90"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Assistant Professor of Nursing Monica Hall \u201990 has been named a Nurse Educator Fellow by the Illinois Board of Higher Education, supporting her research on type 2 diabetes in the African American community.<\/p>\n<p>Presented by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE), each fellow is awarded $10,000 in an effort to ensure the retention of well-qualified nursing faculty at institutions of higher learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis award is a wonderful gift and will allow me to further my dissertation research,\u201d said Hall. \u201cWithout this award, I would not be able to expand my research to include interviews of people outside of Illinois.
