John (\u201cJD\u201d) Olson, Class of 1984, has been named general counsel and\u00a0corporate secretary of Sadara Chemical Company. He and his wife,Carla (Livingston)(Class of 1983) have relocated to Al-Khobar, in the\u00a0Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He will report to Sadara\u2019s chief executive officer, Ziad S. Al-Labban. \u00a0Sadara, a $20 billion joint venture\u00a0developed by The Dow Chemical Company and the Saudi Arabian Oil\u00a0Company (Saudi Aramco), was formed in 2011 and will build and operate\u00a0a world-scale, fully integrated chemicals complex in Jubail\u00a0Industrial City. The Sadara complex represents the largest American\u00a0investment in Saudi Arabia and will be one of the world\u2019s largest\u00a0integrated chemical facilities, and the largest ever built in one\u00a0single phase. \u00a0Construction is underway and Sadara is expected to\u00a0commence operations in 2015 and, at full production, will deliver\u00a0annual revenues of approximately $10 billion.<\/p>\n

JD has been with Dow for 24 years and has worked on the Sadara\u00a0project since 2009. \u00a0At IWU, he earned a B.S. (Accounting) and B.A.\u00a0(Spanish). He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University (St.\u00a0Louis, Missouri) in 1987. \u00a0JD and Carla have two daughters, Samantha\u00a0(IWU Class of 2014) and Alexis, a sophomore at the University of\u00a0Notre Dame.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
