James celebrated his daughter Katherine’s graduation from IWU on May 4, 2014 with another daughter and Titan graduate, Meagan ’12!
IWU talent fills the cast and crew of Prairie Fire Theatre’s “Who Stole B-Flat?” including Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Robert Mangialardi; students Megan Callison ’16, Rebecca Buechel ’15, Sean Leeds ’15 and Jacklyn Klimczak ’15; and alumni Jeannie Breitweiser ’72, Nancy Brokaw ’71 and Rhys Lovell ’87.
Dr. Gisele M. Casanova, an associate professor of psychology at Purdue University Calumet and the Central Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, was among the Chicago Defender Women of Excellence honorees. The awards celebrate local African American women who inspire others through their vision and leadership, exceptional achievements, and participation in community service.

The creative mind behind films like Shrek, Bill Damaschke is in Australia with Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg for the opening of their exhibition in Melbourne.
Award-winning director and playwright Deanna Jent, an Illinois Wesleyan graduate whose son Christopher is in the class of 2014, gave the address, “Story and Truth: The Dionysus Connection,” during the University’s Commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, on the Kemp Commencement Plaza at State Farm Hall.
I recently was named president of Martin One Source (printing, office products, furniture & fulfillment) based in Champaign. I will continue to commute from the B-N area for a period of time so you can continue to find Donna ’83 and me in Normal. Dan recently announced his engagement to Brandie; wedding planned for Jan. 2015. Joe will attend Pace Law School in NY this fall and Sarah will be in Nairobi, Kenya studying international public health next semester. The empty nest is around the corner for us.
