I have recently joined the Pekin, Illinois chapter of the AAUW- American Association of University Women.

This branch of AAUW has been active since 1948, and conducts fundraisers each year to give out $1000.00 college scholarships to young women who are at the top of their class academically.

My daughter, Elli Blake Jung, was one of these  recipients in May of 2012.

It is an organization that is fostering the success of all young women, and is currently dedicated to insuring the safety and securing the dignity of all young women who are entering life on campus for the first time.

I would encourage all female college graduates to look into this national organization, and consider joining the local chapter in your area. Knowledge is power, and it is by sharing our knowledge that we empower other women to reach their academic and career goals.
