I was named recipient of the 2013 California Hospital Association’s “Person of the Year” award, the “Simanek Distinguished Service Award.” The honor resulted from my research demonstrating the effectiveness of a new model for emergency psychiatric care, which would reduce delays by 80% and decrease hospitalizations by 75%, all while improving access to high-quality care and saving an average of thousands of dollars per patient. The original research article was endorsed by the New England Journal of Medicine and published in the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine. Here is the link to the press release about the award, which I couldn’t upload on your webpage: http://globenewswire.com/news-release/2013/12/10/595961/10061038/en/Dr-Scott-Zeller-Earns-Distinguished-Service-Award-From-California-Hospital-Association.html
