Dawn Upshaw ’82

The Australian Chamber Orchestra is gunning for four Grammy Awards following its acclaimed collaboration with composer Maria Schneider and soprano Dawn Upshaw.

The classical album Winter Morning Walks, featuring the ACO, has been nominated for four awards after a series of successful live performances in the United States led to it being recorded in New York last year.
Australian audiences will have the chance to hear the “evocative, beautiful and memorable” music next year when Upshaw joins the ACO for its national tour.
The album received Grammy nominations for:
* Best contemporary classical composition (Schneider);
Best classical vocal solo (Upshaw);
* Best classical engineered album (David Frost, Tim Martyn and Brian Losch);
* Classical producer of the year (David Frost).
