Lee W. Short
It is with great sadness that I report to you the passing of Lee Short. Lee, an IWU icon and loyal alum, was an honorary member of the Class of ’70 and the father of our classmate Karen Short Mills. He was the one who made sure all of us became Titans back in the 1960’s.
IWU President Eric Jensen, said today:
It is with great sadness that I must report the death of Lee Short ’44, Director of Admissions from 1952-1978. Services for Lee will be held next Thursday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. An obituary will be published in The Pantagraph on Sunday.
Please join me in offering sympathy to Lee’s wife, Phyllis, his children, and his nephew Trey.
Lee’s many contributions to Illinois Wesleyan are chronicled in this IWU Magazine article from 2010.
You may read his obituary here.

Dear Karen and Family,
My condolences to you, my Sister! Your sweet daddy will find my dad Vern and all their IWU comrades to share stories of us, our moms, and the grandchildren, picking up where they ended.
Love you my friend and loyal Sister!
