We are saddened to share that “Tough as nails” artist and teacher Sharon Jo Callner ’65 died on November 11, 2014. You can read her obituary here.
For Anderson, who previously served as both interim president of Seniority and president of the ABHOW Foundation, the transition will be a homecoming of sorts.
After joining ABHOW, a leading nonprofit of senior housing and health care in the western U.S., in 1994 as vice president of sales and marketing, Anderson served as the founding president of Seniority from 1997 to 2005. In 2005, he became the president of the ABHOW Foundation but continued to serve Seniority as a senior consultant.
Anderson looks forward to pursuing new goals involving developing Seniority Spirit, the firms hospitality and culture formation program, for other nonprofit providers and continuing to consult in sales and marketing.

Back in the sixties members of IWU formed a rock band called the Fratiers. John Puffer organized a reunion for the group. They met on Lake Erie last September to enjoy their 50th reunion. The photo below is made up of surviving members, spouses and a few fans. They had a great time reminiscing, playing golf and planning future gatherings. John, perhaps you will send a note about future meetings. Maybe more fans would like to join you!

If you have been following the class blog, you will already know that Denny Matthews ’65 was one of the friends who distributed some of Marty Capodice’s ashes. Marty’s wife Arnie Arnesen contacted Denny and asked him to take one of the packets of Marty’s ashes to spread on a baseball field. Marty and Denny had been friends since kindergarten, played baseball together through high school and were St Louis Cardinal fans. The field could have been a local ball field or any baseball field. Mission accomplished thanks to Denny Matthews.

Lynne and her husband, Jerry, have completed 7 weeks as long term volunteers at the United Methodist Committee on Relief’s Sager Brown Campus in Baldwin Louisiana. Jerry and Lynne were the host and hostess for the weekly volunteers from August 23 to September 26, 2014. They returned November 30 until December 12, 2014 and are currently there again returning home January 31, 2105! Lynne exemplifies the famous quote of Minor Myers. “Go into the world and do well. But more importantly go into the world and do good.”

Marty Capodice passed away October 31, 2013. Since that time he has lived on through his family and friends. In his will he gave instructions for his ashes to be divided up, a little given to each of his friends, so they could take him on their travels.
