He is survived by his wife, Elaine, as well as his daughter, two sons, stepsons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born on October 22nd, 1929 in Taylorville, Illinois. After graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University, he held a career in Data Processing, founded a computer-onto-microfilm service, created a specialty lighting business (Bulbman Inc.), and retired in 1996. Gerald was one of the first small-business owners to establish a program allowing employees to own stock and one of the first to hire people with physical disabilities.
