I spent a few minutes tonight making a page for people to download the Titan TV schedule to calendar programs like Apple iCal, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and many others. I have it set to import into iCal on my Mac and refresh once a day. As such, I won’t even have to be connected to the internet in order to check out what I can see on Titan TV - and you can do this, too.

This new schedule option is directly tied in with the new schedule page where you can select the specific day you want to see (with highlighting to distinguish between channels and to show you what’s on right now). They both run from the same database on our end, which makes it a lot more accurate on your end.

You can subscribe to the schedule for channel four, channel five, or both. And if you don’t want to give up your web browser, you can, of course, still access the schedule online.

If you have any other ideas, you can leave them in comments here, in an email to titantv@iwu.edu, or in a phone call to 309-556-2639.

New Schedule Page

A few weeks ago, I decided it was time to work on the Titan TV schedule page. I thought the old one was more difficult to read than it needed to be and it was often frustrating people because it could only show the schedule for one day at a time - there was no way to look at the schedule for tomorrow, for instance, unless that was what we had published for everyone to see.

Though I am still not completely certain that it will work fully in every browser, I am ready to start letting people use the new schedule format. We will continue updating the old one for a while (as often as we program, as usual), but the new one will probably be the only version in a couple of months.

If you have any trouble with the new schedule page, PLEASE email me - if you have trouble with it, that means other people will, too - emailing me will let me know what I should fix so this new page can work well for a long time to come.

Hello, all.

As you are probably aware, the Student Senate is currently holding elections for their next President and Vice President. This election has had some amount of controversy (but, then again, when is there an election without controversy?), but we were at the debate last Thursday and we filmed it for you. It is up, uncut, on Titan TV (channel five) at 9:45am and 6:45pm. It lasts about an hour and a half, but tune in as you are able if you want more information about the candidates.

Last Friday, Undercover, the cover song talent show put on by the Office of Student Activities, happened for the thirteenth time on our campus! We were there to film that, too. It’s playing on Titan TV now, too (and it should be for a while longer), so check it out. It’s pretty awesome. We also uploaded each song and the results to our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bloomington-IL/Titan-TV/29917599299), so you can see whichever parts you want to see there, too.

As always, let us know what you think. Questions, comments, ideas, suggestions, whatever. Email us at titantv@iwu.edu or call us at 309-556-2639 (or just x2639 on campus).

Facebook

In an effort to make it easier to communicate with Illinois Wesleyan students, we have created a Facebook Page with Titan TV videos, discussion boards, and much more to come in the near future. You can visit the Page if you want to suggest a Titan TV program, request a showing time for a movie, request a movie, or pretty much anything else. If you want to see more content on the Page itself, that’d be a good place to let us know, too.

Keep in mind that we always accept any type of feedback via email at titantv@iwu.edu or 309-556-2639 (x2639 on campus).

Casting Call

The following is a casting call from Laura Martino, a first-year student who is spearheading the production of this new Titan TV Original Series:

Opportunity for actors to work for Titan TV in an original series:
-Actors are paid per episode on this biweekly series
-Flexible schedule

Auditions will be held on Saturday the 20th in CNS C101 and CNS C102. An audition meeting solely for the benefit of those auditioning will be held at 11:00am before auditions start. This is not required to audition but highly suggested because we’re looking for very specific characters and group chemistry. For the actual audition, you can sign up at the Main Desk in the Memorial Center or come at 11:00am to figure scheduling out then.

What do I need to do for the Audition??

Well….please dress casually, and try to be yourself. We’re looking for students with good chemistry, who are hard working, and not afraid to make the role their own. It is suggested that you look over the following character bios and script for episode one. We’re not looking for good readers we’re looking for people to add to the roles on the page and give them ‘life’.

For those auditioning for:
-Landen- a musical background would be nice, but not necessary (Landen’s a music composition major)
-Vira- a nice voice and basic dance background
-Elise- MUST be a strong dancer with A LOT of passion in the execution of the dance

All those auditioning will sign up for a half hour time slot and are free to do as they please before and after. All should be able to return for callbacks starting at 2:00pm.

Thanks so much and hope to see you there!!!
