We’ve got another submission deadline coming up on February 24th. If you have a poem or a short story that you would like to get feedback on you should get it in by the end of the day so that our readers and editors can let you know what we think of it. We hope to see your work.

The Next Submission Deadline

Are you looking for a place to submit your work? Did you miss the Tributaries deadline, and realize that you had that one great piece sitting on your desk? If so, you should submit your work to us. Our next deadline is on February 10th and we really want your work. Our readers and editors enjoy providing feedback and we look forward to seeing what the writers of on campus can come up with.

So, submit your work and contribute to Illinois Wesleyan’s writing community!

Workshop Opportunity and Submission Deadline

We will host another series of workshops this semester for students who are interested in receiving direct feedback on a single piece. The workshops will consist of 3-9 people who will get together as many as 3 times over the course of the month of February and into early March. Each session will be guided by a member of the organization, who will also have a piece up for discussion. If you are interested in being involved please email Pseudonym.Required {at} gmail(.)com (Include your name, whether you prefer to work with fiction or poetry, and what days you are most likely to be free). We look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome Back to School!

With break over and the new semester beginning I would like to let everyone know that we have our first submission deadline coming up on January 13th. If you’ve written something over break, or have something you wanted to keep until after you received feedback in class, now is the time to send it in. Our readers and editors are anxious to give you feedback.

Once this deadline starts we will revert to our regular schedule, where deadlines are every other Wednesday.

The next submission deadline is Wednesday, November 4th at Midnight. If you would like to have a group of your peers read, review, and possibly edit your work you should submit it to us. We look forward to working on your pieces and hope to see an increase in the volume of submissions over the course of this semester.

Spooky Slam!

On Thursday, October 29th there will be a slam at 7:30 in the Hansen Student Center. There will be candy, creepy things, dead poets, music, insanity, and of course, great poetry in the form of a double feature. That’s right, featured between the open mic and the slam will be IWU’s own Nathaniel Strauss and Stephanie Nudelman. Come and support your fellow writers. We look forward to seeing you there.

Side note: if you would like to compete in the slam please bring one poem to read/perform.

Second Workshop!

For our second round of workshops this semester we are going to be starting in the first two weeks of November. If you have a poem or short story you would like to have looked at by a group of your peers then this is a great opportunity to do so. The meeting times will be determined by interest and availability.

If you are interested:

Send an email to Pseudonym.Required {at} gmail(.)com with your name, 3 times that work best for you (Ex: Monday 7-9, Thursday 3:30-5, Sunday All Day), and whether the piece you would like to work on is Fiction or Poetry. Please do this by Tuesday, November 3rd.

The next rolling deadline for submissions is this Wednesday, October 7th at Midnight! If you did not submit a piece the first time around I strongly encourage you to do so this time. Dead Poets Society

On Saturday at 7PM in Beckman Auditorium. Large Print (the joint literary community which includes Lyrical Graffiti, Pseudonym Required, and Tributaries) will be showing the movie Dead Poets Society. Come out and join the writing community. Candy will be provided!
