A few network problems this morning.

We had three networking problems this morning; one campus-wide, two local.
The biggest problem was the University lost its connection to the Internet from about 11am to 11:30am. This lost connection was due to a problem Sprint was having with one of their routers.
The Buck Library and Holmes Hall also lost their connections to the campus [...]

IT staff are working with Sungard personnel on installing a replacement server for the University’s main administrative system (Sungard’s Banner software.) This new server has faster processors, faster hard drives, and will run Oracle’s 10G database software behind the scenes. In April and May of last year the Lawlor Group conducted a number of surveys to help with the “Identity” goal of Illinois Wesleyan University’s strategic plan.
