Courtney developed and started a new music-mentorship program called Mini-Masters. This program partners IWU students from the School of Music with young musicians from Bloomington-Normal Boys and Girls Club. Each week we coach youth on their instruments in a one-on-one or small group setting, and provides opportunities for them to perform. Mini Masters also arranges trips for the youth to attend IWU concerts where they can see their mentors perform. This program was established to ensure that B&G Club youth have the opportunity and necessary support to pursue music, and to provide university students with an outlet to share their passion.
Courtney on ARC-
“ARC is a wonderful resource. It shows you that you can make a difference in the community, and that you can do it now. And then it provides you with the inspiration to do it because you hear about the incredible things that your peers are doing. It’s a place to cultivate creative ideas and receive the push to go out and dream big.
